A typical home inspection in Texas is required to follow a set of rules called the "minimum standards of practice" as defined by the Texas Real Estate Commission. This is basically the bare minimum your inspector is required to do. The intent of these rules is to promote consistency across the industry, and help to ensure that every inspection, no matter the inspector, will cover all of the major systems of the home.
Any inspector is, of course, permitted to go above and beyond the standards. Many inspectors probably do, but some most definitely do not. It really comes down to the effort your inspector is willing to put in.
That's where the Meerkat promise comes in.
We promise to put in the effort.
Where others see a limitation, we see an opportunity to go beyond the standards and provide value for our clients.
